I myself is new with hijab. I only started late last year and even know I am still trying to get the hang of it. But if we observe closely, hijab among the celebrities is very common right now. More and more of them have started to don a hijab. It does not give any bad effect to their appearance in fact I think they look even prettier and more appropriate.
I know the issues when it comes to hijab and women is cleanliness or hygiene. How are you supposed to maintain it when it is sweaty and stuffy under your hijab. It is a challenge but there is always a solution. You see wearing a hijab is not only done because it's God's instruction to do so. But indirectly, the fact that you are covering your hair means you are covering it from other bad stuff too, like dust, smoke, and direct sun rays.
I still remember one of shampoo tv commercial that potrays women in hijab. How cool is that? Advertising a shampoo that is obviously meant to be used on our hair but no hair is shown in the commercial. Wardina Safiyya acted in it and it became a phenomenon even long after because it is the first of it's kind and if I'm not mistaken in the world! Such a "out-of-the-box" kinda thinking.
When this shampoo brand called Sunsilk created this range Clean & Fresh, it really answers all doubt. And I was lucky enough to be invited to "Cerita Hijabku Bersama Sunsilk" a campaign held to also announce Heliza Helmi as its brand ambassador. This event was held at Westin Hotel followed by Majlis Berbuka Puasa. It's been a while since I last went to this kind of event therefore I was pretty excited.
Accompanied by my BFF from http://secretdiaryofaliayazid.blogspot.com Mrs. Alia we went straight from our office (luckily we work very near to each other) and Alhamdulillah managed to reach the venue not long after the media registration was opened.
When we arrived, the photoshoot was being conducted.
Not to let go this opportunity, I grabbed the ambassador Heliza Helmi to take her pic with me. She is such a cutie even in real life. Very friendly and down to earth.
Around 6pm we were invited to the Brand Ballroom where all these green settings and lighting really brought the mood.
While waiting, as usual we happily took a picture of ourselves. Or what people call it these days? S.E.L.F.I.E?? Hehehehe.
Not long after that, the emcee of the day, Teh Syuhada Sarip started the event with some introduction about Sunsilk and what the event is all about. I never met her in person but man, she is so funny and talkative too. (Daaaaa that's why she's an emcee Dila!)
Heliza Helmi, brand ambassador of Sunsilk Lively Clean & Fresh, takes the audience through her meaningful journey with Sunsilk, illustrating the support the brand has given her in pursuing her dreams.. Here's what she said during the Q&A session:
"Every hijabi experiences a unique set of hair care problems that comes with wearing a hijab. As a woman who wears hijab, I’ve always been concerned about the smell of my hair after a whole day out, and this affected how confident I felt about myself. It really interesting how she copes with all her duty not just as a singer, actress, image consultant, humanitarian, and this new role as Sunsilk ambassador and still look fresh all day.

All these women’s meaningful stories will culminate in a timeline that showcases the Sunsilk Lively Clean & Fresh journey from 2000 until today. The grand prize winner will be awarded with a cash prize of RM20,000 to achieve her aspirations. She will also be given the opportunity to voice out and share her inspiring story as a woman in hijab with the world.
To join in the contest and be a part of the Sunsilk Menemanimu Sejak Tahun 2000 journey, women have to:
